The asp Tags dosn't appear

Hi all,
I'm using the ASP.net 2.0 Beta 1, and in the html section of my page the
asp tags dosn't appear, and i get a warning if i wrote them.
Any helpCan you provide the error?

Hmm, this is very strange. I don't think I've ever come across this problem.
It makes me feel like somehow some core configuration setting in ASP.NET
is messed up. Can you create a new project in VS.NET and make it work there?
Also, are you using a master page? If you are, then the root element you
need is a <asp:Content> elemenet.

Hmm, this is very strange. I don't think I've ever come across this problem.
It makes me feel like somehow some core configuration setting in ASP.NET
is messed up. Can you create a new project in VS.NET and make it work there?
Also, are you using a master page? If you are, then the root element you
need is a <asp:Content> elemenet.

I've seen this error appear a few times in newsgroups but unfortunately I ha

I'm basically deploying a new website into an area at a web hosting company

"MSDN Managed" Discussion Groups if you cannot recieve an answer
to a question concerning a serious problem like this. I have been searching
the web for days trying to find a solution to this problem but nowhere have
I been able to find anything useful, least of all from Microsoft.
Two web sites on our production server suddenly stopped working, only
returning "The compiler failed with error code 128" no matter what aspx page
you request. We have changed permissions, recompiled the projects, installed
them and set them up on different disks with other addresses, reinstalled
.NET Framework;
in short everything but reinstalling Windows 2000 Server. Now we have found
out that the exact same thing happens to new ASP.NET web applications
installed on the
server! It will propably happen to all the existing ones as soon as we, God
forbid, have to change them or fix a bug.
Actually, there is one more thing we have not tried: installing the ASP.NET
1.1 June 2003 Hotfix Rollup Package described in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=821156.
We would gladly try this as well but there's one problem: the package is
nowhere to be found...
Could someone please point me to the hot fix or, even better, tell me how to

Any luck solving this? I know doing aspnet_regiis -i works to a point
but then it gets out of whack again.

The menu and logo section of this site

Hello all,

Hope someone can help me.

On this website, the links on the top section of the page, when clicked, only appear to refresh the content below. This is particulary noticable when clicking the 'Learn' menu item.

Can someone point me in the direction of how to reproduce this for my ASP application. I have been looking at Master Pages, and whilst they do help with consistency in a website, i have not worked out how to postback only some sections of a page, i.e the content bit.

Is there some caching going on? Its not frames. I'm very new to ASP by the way (as you might have guessed).
